The Cutest Picture Ever of the Cutest Baby Ever.

EVER. And that's not just my opinion because I birthed her and we share half of the same genes. I can be completely objective. I don't want to hear any arguments.

For Kyle

...So he doesn't forget what his own offspring looks like. I couldn't get her to smile but you get the idea. My child has standards-she's no trained monkey.

Firsts

She's smiling!! She started this about two weeks ago but just now seems to have finally gotten full control of her face. Too bad Kyle hasn't even seen her do this yet. That's what happens when you let your wife take your baby on a two week vacation.

She can hold things!! I know... big deal, right? But she's a baby and started out not being able to do anything. I think it's kind of a awesome.

On a side note; harkening back to my previous post about hilarious baby farts. She did entertain us in Sacrament meeting today by ripping a huge one in the middle of the closing prayer. Priceless.

Retro Stroller

My mom has had this stroller since I was a baby, just waiting for a little grandkid. Needless to say we went out and bought a new one the next day. So much for sentiment.

Baby Sharts=Endless Entertainment

This video is for all of you who find baby farts hilarious. I'm numbered among you though I won't say I'm proud. I keep catching my mom watching this as she laughs hysterically. We were trying to document her new trick--walking from my knees to my ribcage. No joke. I just keep her balanced, otherwise she does it all on her own. Other new trick--smiling. Still trying to get a good video clip of that and then I will post asap.

A Relatively Good Weekend

Corinne and Ada are in Idaho for the next two weeks, but we were all just in Utah together visiting our families (and watching BYU get smoked in football). Ada met some grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, cousins, 2nd cousins, and so on. No surprise that she can't remember eveyone's name yet.

The most momentous meeting was with her cousin Bennett. We taught her that first cousins are off-limits, but she just wanted to stare into Bennett's dreamy eyes. Tiffany's blog has the tale and the pics.

Goodbye Manhattan

The baby will be leaving the island for the first time in her short 6 week life. We're off to Utah and Idaho for the next two weeks to suburban-it-up (welcome to the car culture, baby!). My blogging while out there remains to be seen. I'm plum out of ideas. How do people write posts everyday? I can't even manage a picture.
Wish us luck.

More Pictures Taken By Someone Else

Someday I'll learn how to use that $800 camera we have sitting on our desk. But in the meantime, thank you Kathryn for snapping a few shots after our leisurely lunch yesterday. I'm a fan.

Visitors

Sisters Jessie and Annie and bro-in-law Jon came for a visit. Kyle feels bad about how boring we were (http://www.kylemonson.com/2009/09/visitors.html). But you know what? They came out to see the baby and that's exactly what they did--they saw the baby. We managed to do a few other things as well (Jessie, I hope you don't mind me ripping a few pictures off of you since you were the only one brilliant enough to take a camera anywhere).

Natural History Museum and Ada's first subway ride.

We did a lot of this....

And this...
and this...
Much picnicing in the park

I love how Ada is staring longingly at Jessie's boob in this picture. Sorry kid. Wrong rack.
On our way t0 Whole Foods 6 times. Thanks dessert bar.

This picture is to document the first time I've ever seen Annie hold a baby. EVER. I used to terrify her by telling the little boys I used to babysit to go hug her. She would literally run away.

Hill Country
Big rib. Jonny's face is priceless.
Other highlights included:
Pinkberry (a few times)
Shopping in SOHO
Ethiopian at Awash
Dominican at El Malecon
Grilled corn at La Esquina
Lots and lots of Rock Band
Shake Shack (twice)
Poker night
Did I mention Whole Foods?

In other news. The baby learned a really cool new trick. She can now look at you. I've learned a really cool new trick. Typing one handed.

Holy Growing Baby

Baby got fat! And I'm not posting her stats to brag or say that she's better than your baby. Even though she is. And cuter and stronger and smarter and more awesome...

1 month check-up:
Height: 21.75 inches, 79%
Weight: 10 pounds 10 ounces, 90% (when she was born she was in the 35th percentile)
Head: 36.5cm, 41%

I rest my case. Not even a freakishly sized head for my child.
