Camera Shy

Kathryn tried to snap a few pics the other day and this was as good as it got. Ada officially has a "camera face". A worried, scrunched-up wink look.
So what started out as this:

Quickly devolved into this:

Here's Ada with her new toddle cart. Super-dangerous, but fun!!

Kyle, in true documentarian style, couldn't interfere with Ada falling down at the end.

Apartment Tour Dos

This is long overdue. I think my mom is our only family member who has actually seen our new apartment (during the actual apartment hunt). This is a gem of an apartment and we are hoping we can stay here for awhile.
The living room:

We've spent zero money on decorating as you can tell. Those blank walls will maybe someday have something on them. I've secretly got my eye on a San Fran artist and as soon as we've got an extra $10k lying around we'll do something about it. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure we will just go bare.

Ada's wall o' derbis. I made that fabric toy bucket (it was way too hard for my skill level), but we need to come up with another toy storage option. I'm thinking of a low-lying shelving unit we can keep somewhat organized and everything will be within easy reach for Ada. Having your play and living area in the same space is a major challenge.

The Kitchen:

Our kitchen is amazing and anyone familiar with NYC apartments had better recognize. We call it our "suburban kitchen". It's so big you can't even see the refrigerator in this picture!! CRAZY!! See that thing in the bottom left corner? That's an exersaucer we got as a hand-me-down. It's the single biggest sacrifice I've made as a mother. Seriously--that thing is so hideous I'm not sure why I allow it.

Jealous of My Awesomeness?

You should be. I just whipped up this crib sheet like it wasn't no thang. It helped that it was super easy. I just found a tutorial online and it went off without a hitch after my initial panic/sweat-it-out-how-do-i-do-the-corners freak-out. Me and directions don't really get along. I'm definitely a "see someone else do it and then try it myself learner". I had completely given up on EVER finding cute crib sheets to go with Ada's nursery. Why didn't I do this earlier? I'll definitely be making a few more...

Monster Teeth

Here they are in all their glory. Two more are coming in up top.
