I took a photography class from my friend Lesley a few weeks ago. It all culminated in a lighting demo session at Bethesda Fountain. I got to take pictures of adults. Who looked at the camera and smiled. Who held still and did what I told them to do. It was not my normal.
Here are my best:
Shayla missed her calling as a model. Seriously--that girl knows just what to do...
These people are real. I know--my mind was blown too.
We were in South Carolina over Thanksgiving visiting family (Kyle's brother's family lives there and his parents flew in from California). Despite it being VERY loud, we had a great time (well, everyone but Joseph who won't sleep/nap--especially with the said loudness. That baby does not travel well). To say that Ada had a blast would be a huge understatement. We need to get a yard and adopt a 4 year old stat! We really didn't see much of her the entire 4 days. Just as it should be...
the aforementioned back yard and all of the awesome stuff that goes along with that.
first bike ride. Living it up suburban style.
with Grandma and Grandpa
Ada and Kaden were serious buddies. Ada the whole weekend: "Where's my cousin?". "hey cousin!"
Colton, Kaden, Ada, Joseph (Tyler is missing but he's a newborn so we'll let it pass).
Us. I think this might be the only pic we have of us together since our wedding. I'm completely serious.
Ada and her Grandpa
this one didn't turn out as well as I wanted. Dang kids.
We've read this book every night for the last week. It's been lost in her bookcase for over a year and what a shame. It has some of the most gorgeous illustrations I've ever seen. NYC and music. You can't go wrong.
Google did a project with Big Apple Circus and we got to tag-along with Kyle today. I've been worried about buying tickets and then Ada not being able to sit through 2+ hours so this was perfect. She loved it. All 2+ hours. I think her favorite parts were the dog act and the (not so funny) clowns. She is now "practicing circus" in her room. I got two terrible pictures to document the afternoon.
this was promising to be a decent (ish) picture until that giant-handed lady swooped in at the last minute to grab a brochure.
Kyle and Ada showed up with this and nary a napkin in sight. I can't handle sticky fingers...
