Friday morning, Erinn and I ditched our little guys and embarked on a way-too-ambitious adventure to Long Island City (Erinn--thank you sincerely for always being up for these crazy ideas of mine). I'd been wanting to hit up the Socrates Sculpture Park for a few years now. This kind of thing can be so cheesy so I made sure the new summer exhibits would entertain our kids. And ding ding ding. They could have spent hours there.
Inside the ark.
This was so beautiful. Hundreds of strands of silver Mylar ribbon dancing in the wind.
Erinn getting handy with some sculptural boobies.
Inside on her garbage throne. It reminded me of an airplane crash that had been reclaimed by the jungle.
We then went on a scooter ride over to MoMA PS1 to see their new summer installation Hy-Fi (the scooter ride ending up being way longer than I anticipated. Our kids are serious troopers). It did not disappoint. Especially because we were the first people of the season to get into the pool, which means my germaphobia didn't kick in too badly.
