Yesterday

A ton of pics without context from Gantry Plaza State Park yesterday morning. Because the weather was good and the light was perfect (for once).

Told ya.

My kids are currently obsessed with this video:

And a video of them (plus Kyle) reacting to it:

5 Year Stats and Other Stuff

Height: 44.8 inches (87th %)
Weight: 41 pounds (50th %)

I quickly went through the hundreds of pictures I haven't managed to do anything with to find the ones that most perfectly encapsulate Ada's little personality.

(water break through the teepee)

These make me laugh:

And then this:

There she is folks.

Also:

I just came across this book, which might be the most perfect book for Ada right now. Besides the amazing illustrations (of course), everything is in Spanish/English. True story: Ada for some reason believes in reincarnation. She claims "Before I came to New York City, I lived in Spain. That's where I learned my Spanish. After that I lived in South America and learned even better Spanish."  Who knows?

And then one picture of Joseph. Mostly because he was chanting/singing "Donuts! Bagels! Donuts! Bagels!" over and over again in the bathtub this morning.

Kindergarten

Post first day of Kindergarten.   The most happily anticipated day of the year (for both of us). I love that kid, but she definitely thrives the best in a school environment.  A little teacher's pet with so much enthusiasm.  She really needs the routine/discipline/stimulation/social interactions that school provides (At home there's never enough. "what are we doing today?", "with who?",  "what are we doing this afternoon?", "with who?",  "what are we doing tomorrow morning?", "with who?". Exhausting).  Even though I'm morally torn with her school placement (The Gifted and Talented program at a lower income NYC public school. Ask me about it sometime if you want an earful. It's basically legalized segregation. Ugh), we are all looking forward to the school year.

Twins!

Not mine. My good friend Ariel's.  Behold Akiva and Linnea (brother and sister). 7 weeks old. So not quite brand-newborns.  They drove into the city last week for a quick photo shoot.

The Rest of Idaho

Sorry. Can't get over these pics of Joseph.

The sky one stormy morning. No filter.

Newly, Gunner, Pop Pop, Joseph

View of the Tetons.

The Pioneer Day Parade never disappoints.

Idaho pride.

Sometime at this point my sisters and Jon showed up. I still can't wrap my mind around the turn of events that made us end up getting gas station bbq.  Such a fancy meal (the fountain drink dispensers behind us really add to the ambiance. Plus the lady filling up).  I even got a babysitter for it!

The Sisters Sweet.

Ada on a boat ride with Jon and my dad. I texted asking how she was doing and Jon replied with this pic and  "cool as hell".  Yep.

 Typical Idaho countryside.

Annie, Joseph and Jon

Pitstop at the FrostyTop.

Road tripping.

Quick visit to the Linds in Salt Lake City on our way out (longtime friends/kyle's current business partner).

Kiria's new baby girl (the one that "could never be ugly").

And perhaps my favorite moment of the trip (out of order):

And it's done.
